Division of Consumer Protection’s Declutter Day Event

May 2, 2022

Despite the rain and cold weather, the Division of Consumer Protection held its annual Declutter Day event last month. It was a great feeling to be back and help the community after taking a break due to Covid. This exciting opportunity allows Commerce to create a free and safe place for our community to properly dispose of valuable personal information while helping to kick off their spring cleaning.

Declutter Day was a great success with over 700 cars disposing of 20,000 tons of personal electronic items, shredding paperwork with important personal information, and collecting household donation items. We appreciate all those who participated in the event and know it would not have been as successful as it was without all of your help.
