Commerce Wellness and Community News

October 27, 2021

It’s sweater weather season. A time for curling up by the fire, watching the leaves fall, and enjoying the comforts of home, fun, and family. As the sun sets sooner, autumn reminds us of another season fast approaching: Giving season.

Please join Commerce in giving to our community in the following way.

Utah State Employee Charitable Fund

  • Serving more than 400 charitable organizations.
  • You may donate to the charity of your choice.
  • Giving is flexible allowing you to make a one time donation, or a continual donation with payroll deduction.  You can register by Friday, November 5th at https://usecf.utah.gov/ .

A big THANK YOU to all who donated to the One Commerce Service Project. Commerce donated 400 hygiene products and dozens of masks to homeless and at-risk women at the Geraldine King Women’s Center this month.  Another 200 bars of soap and soap holders were donated to at-risk girls living in the Clearfield Teen Center.  Thank you to the Wellness Do It Yourself Group for organizing a successful campaign and for tirelessly crocheting soap holders for girls in need. Excess funds donated were given to the Commerce Festival of Trees committee.

Another giant THANK YOU for your extremely generous donations to the Festival of Trees campaign.  Employees, and even their friends and family donated a whopping $1800.00 for the purchase of a Christmas tree that will be decorated at the Mountain America Expo. Center this holiday season.  The purchase of the Utah Department of Commerce tree will fund treatment and care for patients at Primary Children’s Medical Center.

THANKS AGAIN for your selfless donations and for representing our agency with kindness and generosity.
